Quantity

Mitsuo Miura is a Japanese painter, sculptor and experimental artist. He began his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Tokyo, and continued them by moving to Madrid, where he would study at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. Later he moved temporarily in Cuenca where he formed a group of artists of his generation with whom he exhibited jointly on occasion.

His work is very varied as he is dedicated to sculpture, painting and engraving. During his stay in Cuenca, he begins to have influences from the outside such as figuriism and minimalism in which he shows some interest and make his painting dye softer colors inspired by the sea and humidity. On his return to Madrid, his work changes completely taking as its main idea the chaotic atmosphere of the city and his painting begins to use stronger tones. There in Madrid is where he begins to hold group exhibitions. One of the last ones he made in Madrid was at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
