Quantity

Andrés Barajas, a Spanish painter and printmaker, began to move around the art world at a very young age, working with his uncle as a copyist at the Prado Museum. Later he began his studies at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades. He completes this training at the Fine Arts Circle in Madrid, where he meets relevant artists such as Manuel Alcorlo, Alfredo Alcaín or Ignacio Berriobeña, sharing a taste for the figurative. In the sixties he let himself be carried away by the world of expressionism, abstraction and informalism.

His works are mainly related to bullfighting themes from a different point of view than the rest of the artists, but largely influenced by Francisco de Goya. Other themes of his work are based on ideas about witchcraft, fantasy and the figure of the woman, as something more novel.
