The complete collection of the Apocalypse Tapestry

The complete collection of the Tapestry of the Apocalypse engraved by Domingo Martínez Aparici comprises eight sheets reproducing 8 cloths of this exceptional upholstery, which apparently was the result of one of the factories of Brussels in the sixteenth century and was exposed in the Royal Palace in Madrid. They represent the Apocalypse of St. John, or what is the same, the revelations of God to men about the end of the world. In this way, in Cloth I, God sends John to seven churches of Asia; In Cloth II, the Book of the Seven Seals is opened; in the third, the touch of the last three trumpets announcing the three plagues is seen; in the fourth, St. John receives the rod to measure the temple of God; In Cloth V, the Virgin escapes to the desert; in Cloth VII, the sixth angel announces threats against Rome; in the VIIth, the sixth angel pours the cup on Euphrates and finally, the Cloth VIII represents the battle of Armageddon.
