It reveals one of the best-kept secrets of the Museo de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid: the extraordinary collection of almost fifty miniatures, which is presented in a simple and enjoyable way for both the general and specialised public. It includes an introductory text on the art of the miniature and the vicissitudes of the restoration of the pieces, as well as a complete description of the works, mostly portraits, most of which belong to the Spanish and French schools of the 19th century. Miniaturists of the stature of Guillermo Ducker, Antonio Tomasich and Joaquín Curtoys de Anduaga are represented, as well as highlighting the importance of women miniaturists who contributed enormously to the development of this art, with the charismatic Teresa Cabarrús, also known as Madame Tallien.
