Rafael Pellicer Galeote was a Spanish artist, son of julio pellicer and concha galeote, and nephew of Julio Romero de Torres and Daniel Vázquez Díaz. Before the Civil War he obtained various awards and honors for his works of classical Andalusian roots, and in turn, modern, such as the third Medal of the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1932 and in 1936. In 1934 he was awarded the Molina Higueras y Pascual prize by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.

After the war he reoriented his work to produce religious works and numerous commissioned murals in Madrid and the Dominican Republic. In this second stage he was awarded the first Medal of Painting and the first Medal of Engraving in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts of 1945, he was awarded the gold medal in the contest of 1952, various medals of honor obtained in the Exhibition of Painters of Africa and in the Autumn Salon of 1962, in the same way, he was awarded the first prize of the National Competition for the banknotes of the Directorate of Currency and Stamp and the medal of honor and prize of painting Valdés Leal, of the Provincial Council of Seville.

He finished his life as Secretary of the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, academician of painting of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and professor of the Central School of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid.
