Quantity

Manuel Narváez Patiño, a Spanish artist born in Madrid into a family characterized by his taste for painting and literature, made him instilled in these disciplines from an early age. For three years he would take up his studies in architecture, training that he would not finish. Finally he enrolled at the School of Fine Arts of Madrid, where he later ended up being a professor of drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid. Velázquez, Goya, Rembrandt, Solana, Picasso or Nolde, were some of the great figures in the history of art who were references for him. His plastic language was marked by the tendency towards expressionism, together with arbitrary and loose colors, he made his work a very unique and particular production.

He was awarded for his work on several occasions, in 1973 he got a Scholarship and Gold Medal of the Landscape Pension of Segovia and the Medal of Merit of the Fine Arts. He was also awarded twelve years later with the Francisco de Goya Prize of the Madrid City Council, and two years later with the Durán Prize.
