Roman copy of the portrait of the Athenian playwright that was made in c. 290 B.C. by Cephisodotus the Young and Timarchus. The inscription ARISTOTLE in Greek characters was engraved by J. Nicolas de Azara in the 18th century. The original sculpture, in marble, is dated in the first half of the 1st century A.D. Nowadays belongs to the Prado Museum (Madrid) with the title "Portrait of the playwright Menander".
