José Hernández Muñoz was a Spanish painter, sculptor and graphic artist from Tangier. Born in the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco, it was there, in the Libraire des Colonnes, where at the age of 18 he exhibited his works for the first time. In 1964 he settled in Madrid, where he developed much of his work. He exhibited in numerous galleries inside and outside Spain such as the Galerie Octave Negru in Paris, the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art or ARCO in Madrid. He also worked extensively as an edition illustrator, set designer and costume designer on plays.
