Giovanni Folo was an Italian neoclassical artist born in a small village in Italy, from which he left to train. He moved to Rome and studied with Giovanni Volpato. He began to gain a reputation for his engravings inspired by paintings and sculptures by great masters such as Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian, among others. He was a member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome.
