Dámaso Ruano was a Spanish artist born in Tetuán. He studied in Madrid until 1958, when he returned to the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco to present his first exhibition in 1962. There he devoted himself to teaching as a drawing teacher and was appointed director of the Spanish Cultural Mission. In 1969 he returned to the peninsula, where he remained until his death. It was from this time that he began to participate in numerous exhibitions in Spain and France. In 2014 he received the medal of the City of Malaga and the title of Adopted Son of the City.
