Quantity

Anhelo Hernández Ríos was a Uruguayan painter, draughtsman, teacher and engraver. He studied sculpture and drawing at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in his hometown, then entered the School of Applied Arts in 1941 and a year later at the National School of Fine Arts of Uruguay, entering at the end of the same year in the Workshop of Joaquín Torres García. He combined his extensive teaching work with his creative work, exhibiting in museums and galleries around the world and accumulating awards, recognitions and scholarships.

Currently his works can be found in galleries and museums of relevance such as the National Museum of Visual Arts of Uruguay, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the National Chalcography or the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
