Quantity

Juan Bordes is a Spanish architect, sculptor, and art collector. He began his education at the Luján Pérez School of Las Palmas (Canary Islands) on sculpture courses. In 1965 he began his architecture studies at the Higher Technical School of Architecture in Madrid, and in 1976 he began his stage as a teacher in the latter. Ten years later he gets his doctor's degree.

After several years he began a stage of work dedicated to sculpture, at first he focused on erotic and later realistic themes. He currently has different public works in various places in Spain, for example in Atocha, Madrid's main railway station, in Las Plamas, such as the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, or in Barcelona, ??collaborating with other artists such as Óscar Tusquets for the elaboration of a series of fountains. commemorating the 1992 Olympic Games.

Finally, in 2006, he entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando as an academic with his speech, "The childhood of the artist or the sources of the Nile." From 2010 to the present, he is the Director of the National Calcography of the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts, in the same way that he holds the title of Patron of the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome and of Knight of the French Legion d'honneur.
