José Pedraza Ostos, sevillian engraver and painter, begins his training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, having as teachers figures such as Eduardo Cano. More specifically, he was a disciple of José Jiménez Aranda when it came to learning the art of engraving. His fascination with Francisco de Goya led him to make engravings since 1917, without leaving aside other disciplines such as painting, becoming an excellent engraver who made several works for important national magazines. Throughout his career he received numerous awards such as the Gold Medal of Panama in 1916 or different awards of the National Exhibitions.
